Climbing Life's Ladder With Kohelet(Ecclesiastes) # 4

"All the rivers flow into the sea, yet the sea is not full; to the place where the rivers flow, there they repeatedly go." (1:7)
No matter where we travel or how we travel there is always more to us and our journey, no matter our age, condition or situation.
If we carry on travelling as we always we will predictably go and achieve where we have always gone, what we have always done. When we make the choice to go beyond our current selves we shall so that the sea is not yet full and their is much for us to do,feel. achieve, experience, engage etc

Climbing Life's Ladder With Kohelet(Ecclesiastes) #3

"Even on the road as the fool walks, he lacks heart and proclaims to all that he is ignorant" Kohelet 10:3
We all love to rationalize and justify what we think we want. It would behoove us to be wary that no matter how we choose to justify what we think we need to do or be.
If what we are going to do is too impulsive, self serving, less than appropriate etc we will not fool the world for too long for our words, and actions ,as products of where we choose to set our mind ,will billboard to the world their true quality, substance, value ,impact etc showing who we have chosen to be at any one time

Climbing Life's Ladder With Kohelet(Ecclesiastes) #2

"For there is not a righteous person upon the earth who will do good and will not sin" Kohelet 7:20
Many translations miss the point that the yaaseh tov( יעשה טוב) is future tense meaning "will do good" and the same applies to VeLo Yecheta(ולא יחטא) meaning will not sin.
I would like to suggest that this is one of the most encouraging verses for us all , especially those of us, who fall a lot and are on the cusp of giving in.
Part of life, part of our unique Divinely tailored journey to goodness, happiness, greatness, holiness to Oneness..to revealing and discovering that we are an authentic someone..some of the One that is G-d is that we will falter, we will make mistakes no matter who we are. G-d has empowered us to make a choice when we make mistakes
Are we going to miss what is at stake?( hint:the authentic irreplaceable life that is yours that noone else can live etc)
Or do we want to eventually start to realize by always getting back up what is at stake?
So.. yes as the verse says you will make mistakes but never forget ,as it also ,says you will also do good.

Climbing Life's Ladder With Kohelet(Ecclesiastes) #1

" That which has been, is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun" - Kohelet 1:9
In other words if nothing is new under the sun
we get used to life
We get addicted to what we are told has to be.
What is comfortable keeps us from reaching higher
When we are complacent our greatness remains nascent
What we see seems to be all that can be
Yet if we take Shlomo Hamelech's hint and look" above the sun"
We never get used to life and with passion see what seems to be a given as a gift
We feel more open to what can be
We get the courage to leave our comfort zone , going from surviving to thriving
We finally see complacency as the curse word it is, what was nascent is now enticed by an Eternity of exciting growth ,development and impact
Just when we though we have seen all that can be we shatter our limits and start to realize what it is to truly be free
